38 days till departure!!

What once seemed like a 'far away' date -- 25th May -- has suddenly become closer. And with that the mounting pressure of getting ready on time. Naturally all of a sudden there is more to do then there is time, and I don't want to arrive in Europe so exhausted I'm sick for the first week of my sabbatical. The fitness is coming along but there's still about 15 unwanted pounds attached to me that were suppose to be gone by now (.4 oz a day loss and I could knock that goal on the head -- ha ha, dream on), the shoes, luggage and clothes are mostly sorted out in my mind. The technology is getting closer, but not completely resolved. It's time to use my finest project planning skills on myself to make the next five weeks low stress and departure day a breeze. Stay tuned for details as to how that is working out for me.

March 23rd Email news of Gail's passing

Gail Heron Gibson
1951 - 2010

Our dear Gail passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010 in Victoria Hospice after a battle with cancer, a battle she waged with great courage and dignity. Gail is predeceased by her mother Agnes, father Robert, brother Sam and her beloved Brittany Spaniel, Jazz. She is survived by her brother Bob and sister-in-law Glenda. Gail will be greatly missed by her Victoria family of friends. Gail will be remembered by many friends and professional associates in Victoria, Calgary, Ottawa and Cornwall. Gail was well known for her, "Hail fellow, well met" attitude towards people in both her business and personal life.

Gail was born in Scotland on February 25, 1951. She studied at Queen’s University and Dalhousie University. Gail’s early career was spent in Ottawa, where she served as executive director of numerous national sport organizations, before moving to Victoria, BC in 1989. Gail held a Ph.D. in Organizational Behaviour and was a founding faculty member of the Master’s in Leadership and Training at Royal Roads University in Victoria. Gail also lived and worked in Calgary during this period, where she did some of her best work as an executive coach and facilitator. Accomplished business woman, academic, author, motivational speaker, consultant – Gail’s deepest passion lay in teaching and inspiring present and future leaders.

In her book, "Who You Are is How You Lead", Gail wrote:
"Mass consciousness is at a major tipping point today. People are ready, and seeking ways to better fulfill their own deeper needs and serve the deeper needs of others. Evolution is calling for more, the new consciousness is calling for more and our souls are calling for more. What leadership, organizations, humanity and the world need now is real transformation. We need to reconnect with who we are, and be prepared to shine our unique brilliance into the world."

Within each of us is a loving, magical, powerful being....a real self. Enable that hidden self to emerge."

There will be a celebration of Gail’s life in Victoria at a future date.
